High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

I just love the 1/2 off appetizers and the perfect margarita! My favorite server is Dubwa (Its a french name i don't know how to spell). He isn't the greatest server but so personable and makes me want to come back. This is an applebees. It is great at what its intending to be.

Just another chain restaurant with nothing super special say about. It is nice to have the menu that is 2 for $20 or 2 for 2 $25 with dessert. The service was alright, I think the server helping us was new. He forgot a couple of things but quickly fixed it. I am sure I will be back sometime.

I don't know why everyone is hating on Applebees. As far as chain restaurants, Applebees, TGI Fridays, Chili's, and so on, Applebees is pretty good in my humble opinion. Do they offer the best quality food around? Of course not. But do they have a large menu offering something of everyone's tastes? I think so. If you want a quick bite to eat in a comfortable setting with food served fast and at reasonable prices, Applebees is for you. Bring Grandma with you too, she'll love it, mine does!

So I've never been to Applebees before until I went to this one and I must say the experience was definitely pleasant. The staff were marvellous, definitely dedicating their time to giving you the best service possible. The food was exceptional, cheap, cheerful and the free refills were something I definitely enjoyed. I ended up going there three times whilst in Salt Lake City over a 4 month period, and I would like to go again. I always ended up having the same waiter and he remembered my name and my likes, dislikes and he was generally friendly.

My dining pal and I arrived at The Gateway earlier than anticipating for a show at The Depot just on the other end of the mall, so we decide to snag some drinks and dinner. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly. I ordered a can of PBR and my friend ordered a mixed cocktail. It seemed to take much longer than expected to get our drinks, an offering of iced water while we waited would have been appreciated. Finally our drinks came. We ordered an appetizer of of chips and dip, then ordered our entree soon after. The waiter himself was kind and somewhat attentive, but when I finished my beverage, wanting to order another, he seemed to have disappeared. Our appetizer was delivered to the wrong table, hey it happens, I watched as the table behind us started digging in, then the server came out and informed the waitress who ran the appetizer she delivered it to the wrong table. I should have just told them to keep it, as they already had their fingers in it, when it was moved to our table. I'm normally a pretty easy going guy, so I shook it off, and ordered my second drink. Our entrees were delivered, to the wrong table, again. This is what got me really irritated. One time is okay, mistakes happen, *still no beverage*, I dig in, the food tasted fine, my dining partner commented on the service, which we both didn't find very pleasing, so I decide to talk to a manager or supervisor. I waited a good 5 minutes for him to arrive, after he arrives, my second drink shows up, it was a can of PBR, not a mixed drink, not a special request, a can, just pop it open and bring it to my table, and that seemed to take ridiculously long from ordering to getting it to me. I point out the specific problems we had, the staff was friendly, the food was what I expected. The service was enough for me to feel the need to mention it, which I've only done 3 times before, ever. The manager was kind, and listened to my concerns, and did everything he could in making it right, but honestly after having bad service, and complaining, I felt uncomfortable staying, and paid what we owed, and asked for our food to be wrapped up so we could leave. I'd probably go back, not anytime soon, I did feel like a valued customer, and I felt his apology was sincere, but theirs always that feeling of not wanting to go back after a bad experience.

We're from Idaho and usually enjoy this chain restaurant; however, this particular applebees sucked. We were only 5 minutes early for happy hour and they made us wait to order?!! Then it took anther 20 minutes to get our drink order and we were asked a ton if questions just to get a drink! In idaho my favorite perfect margarita shaker gives me 3 1/2 glasses, but here one shaker barely gave me 2 glasses. What gives? Also decor was outdated super bad and the service was meh. I would not recommend this specific location to others.

Horrible service! The manager sat us in a table which was too small for our party when the place was practically empty. No one came to greet us or take our drink order for over 20 minutes. We had to ask someone if we had a server. The manager came back and took our drink order. We asked for a bigger table. He said if we moved we would have to wait even longer for service. Then he stated his restaurant would be able to accommodate us. (There were only 5 people in our party). Our server was nice. The food was slow. Crazy how slow the service is when no one is in the restaurant and the manager is just sitting at a table watching staring at us. I usually live Applebee's but this location could ruin it for me!

Food was really tasty. Between the four of us dining, we had fish and chips, 3 green goddess salads, a shrimp pasta and French onion soup. We had some boneless wings as an appetizer. The service on the other hand, to say it left something to be desired would be a heck of an overstatement. I understand that this is a chain restaurant, and certainly not a fine dining establishment, but come on. We were greeted by Andrew (?) with a "hey guys" ( mixed company two men and two women ) "you want something to drink? I have Pepsi, iced tea, booze.... *mumblemumblemumble". My step father ordered a Kahlua shake and asked the server if he needed to see his ID being as he was from out of town and knows the stern liquor laws here. The server basically laughed at him and said "no" making no other remark about it... Basically saying "no you old man, I don't need to see your ID, you're obviously too old to card" we then ordered our meal "we'd like to start with wings, each of us would like a green goddess salad and I would like a cup of French onion soup..." We then ordered our entrees. 15 minutes later he piles the wings, salads and soup onto our table and walks off. Before those are half way done, the mains are brought out and shoved in the hardly remaining space. Two of us had not even started touching our salads yet, and had them placed on the table next to us to give us a little more room. Then, after he cleared the entree plate of one of our guests, he brought our check with us still eating without offering any dessert. I finally had to tell him that we were still eating but we would be ordering dessert once we had finished our meals. We were one of maybe four tables in the whole place. I don't know if he had been cut and was trying to get out of there, or if he's just a bad server, but there was no reason to rush us like that. especially a table of servers who would have loved nothing more than to enjoy a night out and leave a big fat tip. I will not be returning.

The food is ok. But definitely a little pricey for the quality and the quantity. Atmosphere is chainy. Service was ok but a little invasive and demanding. I eat here often and always wonder why I keep coming back.

Worst Applebee's of all time. It felt like 1992 inside. Horrible service. And to many questions just to get a beer.

My girl and I went to this location with a little better expectations. It's always been a good location for us, at least. But this time, not so much. We were sat down in a booth, and my girlfriends cushion seat was half falling off and unhinged. Our waitress took a while to come around, and then got our order wrong twice, and also had some other waitor bring us our appetizer, which was still the wrong app that we ordered. We finished our food, and sat in the booth for almost 15 minutes waiting for the bill. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait at all. Maybe it was just a bad experience for that day, but I know I'll be careful before going back.

Eeehh, just Ok! This Applebees is pretty much like all the rest. Dark wood decor inside and a mixture of booths and tables. Its located in the upscale Gateway Mall in downtown SLC. We ordered a steak which came with veggies and potatoes and boy did it look pretty sad. The veggies and potatoes were soggy and the entire meal was served on a dingy barely yellow plate. We actually laughed when it came out because it looked so unappetizing. Fortunately the steak wasn't too bad but nothing extraordinary either. I ordered the crispy orange chicken which according to the menu came "in a bowl" well it came on another dingy plate. There was no hint of "orange" on this chicken either, it was like eating chicken nuggets with rice. I even asked for ranch so that I could dip my nuggets and give them some flavor! The snap peas in the dish were soggy and it also contained what looked like chopped up pieces of hard lettuce with brown edges. The only thing that tasted good was the wanton chicken tacos which we ordered as appetizers. They had cilantro and some kind of mild salsa in them. We also ordered two kids meals which were Ok, except the mac n cheese again looked like it came from a cafeteria. Its orange and they served it in an orange bowl on top of an orange plate. The service was very attentive and we had several drink refills. No complaints there! The waiters were great!

I love their new BINGO every Wednesday nights. It adds a little fun to your meal. I also love their bbq bone in chicken wings. They're so good. During the week, they usually offer half price appetizers after 9pm. So if you're hungry after a movie, it's the place to go. :)

The worst Applebee's in the world. Took 15 minutes to get acknowledged after being seated. Another 15 to get the first round of drinks. 2 hours to get food. Not only did they bring the WRONG food they decided to substitute (without asking) black bean soup for the tomato basil we ordered since it would "take too long to make". We complained to the manager who said she would "take care of us" then proceeded to subtract $12 off of the $60 bill. Complained via e-mail to the general manager (per their tabletop flyer requesting feedback) and he e-mailed back offering a free appetizer?!? Avoid this location.

Even among Applebee's, this one is bad. I have more than one inedible meals here. It is always salty to the point of being disgusting and the food is often cold when delivered. I am not sure why it is still open.

Horrible service! My husband and I decided to give Applebees a a try being I had never eaten there and it is close to home, However we will NEVER be going back. It took awhile for our server to greet us which I'm usually okay with because I understand they may have other things to do but it was because she was across the bar from us eating food with other employees chatting and continued doing so throughout our whole experience. We saw her multiple times walk past (while I had no water) texting on her phone. Didn't check up with us to see how the food was until we were done and had asked for boxes. There are so many better restaurants out there near by with a lot better food. Go somewhere else
